Oliver loved ocean days because the sea felt like a giant salty blanket covering most of Earth. In the Pacific Ocean, he glided beside Mina, Theo, and Dr. Reef over a coral reef that shone like an underwater garden. Oliver named dolphins, parrotfish, and a starfish as Mina drew them on a floating chart. Then Oliver noticed one corner was oddly quiet. Only a few shells drifted there, and even the bubbles seemed to whisper.
‘Let’s follow the shells,’ Oliver said, and the team swam into a twisting channel beside the reef. Kelp waved like green ribbons, and warm water brushed their cheeks before a cooler stream curled past. Oliver held the chart steady, but the ink began to blur. ‘The map is fading,’ Mina said. Oliver frowned, then watched the fish patterns carefully. The missing creatures were not gone; they seemed to be moving toward a deeper blue place where sunlight could not reach.
Ahead, Theo pointed. Tiny glowing shells made a neat line near a shadowy trench. Oliver peered into the dim blue and spotted the answer: a hidden spring sent out a cool, gentle stream, and the fish had gathered there for shelter. But the current bent their clues into swirls, hiding the safest path back. Oliver thought for a moment, then floated the chart low and used the shell line as a guide. ‘Slow and steady,’ he said.
Oliver and Mina tied soft, sea-safe ribbons to floating markers and placed them where the current could catch them. Dr. Reef nodded proudly. The markers showed the creatures a clear, gentle route back to the reef. Soon the quiet corner bloomed with darting fish, a lazy turtle, and bright sea stars. Oliver smiled as the coral garden hummed again with color. Careful watching had solved the mystery, and the ocean seemed to thank them with sparkle and song.
